The Chosen Confusion

Awards don't work the way the status scan thinks they do.

Recognition. Accolades. The industry award. The best of list. The feature in the publication that matters in your world. These things are genuinely valuable. But they operate on a logic the status program fundamentally misunderstands.

They pick you. You don't pick them.

The vision board with the award on it. The marketing materials built around an accolade that hasn't happened yet. The energy directed at being chosen rather than at building the thing that gets chosen.

You cannot visualize your way to being chosen. You can only do the work well enough that the choosing becomes inevitable. The recognition that arrives as a result of the work means something. The recognition that is pursued as a substitute for the work costs time and energy and produces nothing except the feeling of forward motion without any of the friction that actual forward motion requires.
